Small but mighty ski resort. Yes, there are just a few lifts and a dozen of ski slopes, but as it's not really on the gaijin radar (aka not touristy), it'll feel like you have the resort to yourself. And the tree runs are loaded with great powder, plus it's quite cheap! So plenty of fun ahead. The only thing is that it's a bit more remote than most ski resorts around Asahikawa (1h45 by car), so it's more difficult to get there by yourself. Basically, you need to have/rent a car. You could always try to go by train + bus, but it's a 2h15min ride from Asahikawa station (with the Soya Line train) or a 45min ride from Nayoro station (with the Nisshin Piyashiri Sen bus).
